It’s just that there are certain conditions that you must meet in order for the refund you submitted to be valid. In general, the game you want to return should not be purchased for more than two weeks and the recorded game time is still less than two hours.
After making sure that these two things are done, you can immediately apply for a refund to Steam to get the money back.
How to Refund Games on Steam
- go to page https://help.steampowered.com/en/ via browser
- enter menu games, software, etc.
- Select the game or product you want to return from the list Recent Products
- You can also search for game titles manually through the search field
- press menu i bought it by accident
- choose I would like to request a refund
- Select the desired refund method, e.g. steam Wallet or other
- Follow the next step and confirm
- Wait for information from Steam in the next few days
How long does the Steam refund process take?
Steam will then process the first request, whether it can be accepted or not. In my experience, it can take from about 2 hours to several days (maximum 7 days) for a refund to receive funds on Steam Wallet or credit card.
If you choose to distribute funds to Steam Wallet, these funds will only be used for purchases within the next 24 hours. After that, you can use it to buy other products on Steam.
For the record, getting a refund will not reset or delete the record time of use. If you played 30 minutes before the first refund, you only have a time limit of 1 hour 30 minutes if you buy it back.
In addition, you also cannot get a refund for consumed in-game items, video content, gifts and subscriptions used. Accounts affected by the VAC ban also cannot get a refund. Steam may also remove the refund menu if it detects that the account has abused the refund feature.
